Ok, Ive run countless utilities i.e AV, spyware scan, registry fixes, etc and tried to research this problem to no avail. Hoping someone else has run into this problem and knows the fix.

Everytime I use windows uninstall or installer for that matter, I experience extreme slowdown.
It takes forever to actually uninstall any program. The computer is unusable until I get fed up and hope to get the process manager and end it prematurly so I can regain control.

Dial a fix program had a section that actually stopped the service, uninstalled the windows installler and reregistered and restarted it, but that did not fix it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I would prefer not to hear an answer of reinstalling windows as that is the most obvious answer but will have to be left as a very last resort.

Never did a system restore. Its probably been close to a month, since Ive been trying to diagnose it.

My error, shouldve done a system restore as soon as I noticed it.

Try this click Start>>Run type cmd click Ok.

In the Command Prompt type chkdsk /r click Enter

You will be asked if you want a check disk to run on next startup click Y and then press Enter

    Restart your PC

It will run in 5 sections please do not interrupt it let it finish.

You could post your a Hijack log and see if anything shows up

    Download HijackThis to your desktop
    • Double click on HijackThis on your Desktop
    • Then click on Unzip
    • It will install to Program files by default
    • Then Click Start>>>Run type C:\Program Files click OK
    • Look for a folder called HijackThis
    • Double click on it
    • On the right you will see a Icon of Dynamite with plunger
    • Double click on the Icon
    • Click on Icon and choose "scan system and save a logfile" usually in notepad
    • Copy and Paste the logfile in your next post
    • Using Ctrl+A to copy All and Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste.

You Uninstaller is running..try going to Task Manager and stop msiexec.exe

If you have the Full Operating System on CD you could try a Repair Install which would leave your files in tacked.
