I have XP Home installed on my computer and want to upgrade to XP Pro. I purchased XP Pro Retail box full program. Now I need to make the decision of either upgrading or doing a new install; does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks Geo.

If you want to keep your settings and files, choose upgrade.
New install, will reformat the existing files on the partition.

Please Note: I'd recommend making a backup of your files before you do either choice.

A brand new install sure runs nice.

I'm with DVOM on this issue. Take the time now to backup all data, collect vital drivers if you don't have a drivers' CD (chipset and networking especially), format the disk and start with a fresh system.
