XP is performing fine except for one thing:
I am using a Toshiba PCX1100U cable modem which is excellent until I shut down XP for any reason. When I re-boot my internet connection dissappears and I cannot get it back without doing a system restore. After the system restore everything works fine but if I shut down after installing new software, XP software included, the new software is of course not there after system restore. Any Ideas??
Thanks

http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/.

check this for your modem, and also check toshiba's site for xp-compliant software/drivers. if there are still problems, contact toshiba and ask them about it. i say best thing is to go to the manufacturer for certain hardware issues to see if they say they are compliant with xp. if they say they are, see if you can validate that claim with microsoft. hope i helped.
