Ok, I have a Hewlett Packard Media Center comp with Window xp and it won't.....ok when I get to the log on screen and it ask for my password I put it in and then that takes about a minute to load (which is slower than normal) and then when it gets through my background pics shows up and that's it! It won't go no further. I don't know what's going on. The toolbars, desktop stuff just wont come up. My mom is gonna take me to get it fixed but I started thinking that everything that's been on my comp will be gone! I have sooo much important things on there :( Is there anything I can do to somehow get through to something!!

Try booting to Safe Mode . . when you turn it on, tap F8 repeatedly until you get a menu that includes Safe Mode. You should be able to disable what ever is starting in msconfig startup tab and see if it will boot normally after that.
