I share my computer with friends, when I get an email for my Yahoo account a little mail icon appears on the task bar and the mail can be accessed without logging on to my account. How do I get rid of this?

Are you signed into Yahoo Messenger at the time? It sounds like it's set to automatically log you in when you click on a link. If that is the case, that can be changed in Yahoo Messenger's preferences.

Also, unclick " remember my id and password" both in Yahoo messenger and in Yahoo mail.

You can go into the Yahoo Messenger Preferences.
Left hand side - highlight over General.
Then on the right hand side, uncheck 'Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger'
