Yahoo Messenger won't connect now!

I had an older version of Yahoo Messenger which always worked fine
But then I decided to download the latest version, which would not connect at all.
(I tried all the different connections in the messenger menu as suggested in Yahoo help files )
So I re installed the version before But now that won't connect either!
I have since had my hard drive re formatted and thought either version would be fine now
But neither still work
Help please!

 

Are you using dialup or broadband?
If you are using broadband and have a firewall, there might be something causing it to stop connecting. Maybe a blocked port, or a program such as your firewall or xp sp2 that is blocking it.

 

Using dial up Was fine till installed the latest version Neither one will work now
