First I would like to thank all the TSG people for their help in the past & the time they spend trying to solve many problems for non-techies like me.
    My problem:
I have a yahoo mail account that started showing a spiral notebook page with "President Reduces Amount Homeowners Owe" when I empty the trash or spam folder. The folder empties but that "ad" remains. It takes you to this page https://www.lowermybills.com/lending/home-refinance/index.loan?sourceid=lmb-26332-47887-62189&jsEnabled=Y&resolution=1024x768&cookieEnabled=Y&jsEnabled=Y&resolution=1024x768&cookieEnabled=Y

I tried to contact yahoo but their help pages only list Q & A but no way to contact them.
Is this a virus? Could you possibly steer me in the right direction if it is something TSG doesn not handle.
    Thanks much......Netty

    Hi there :)

I'm pretty certain I saw the same ad earlier today in my Yahoo mail.

I've seen some others complain about it too through some google searches.

Doesn't seem to be a virus, basically just an annoying ad on Yahoo's part.

Blocking ads in Internet Explorer can sometimes be a pain. You could switch over to Firefox as your browser if you wish. Firefox has better add-ons to block ads in it.

Thanks Cheeseball for you quick reply.
Am relieved that aside from it being annoying it isn't a virus.
As long as I have your attention :)
Could I remove these from my HJT ? I do not use Windows messenger or for that matter any messenger. Thanks again!

You're welcome and yes you can.

    Rescan with Hijack This.
Close all browser windows except Hijack This.
Put a check mark beside these entries and click "Fix Checked".

    Close HijackThis and reboot.
