Yahoo Search Page Hijacks Home Page

Sorry to start a new thread, but most of the stuff I've read here is older and doesn't seem to apply.

Running Sys 7 and Firefox ver. 26. Yahoo hijacks my home page. I've run a variety of malware programs with no joy. I suspect Yahoo has installed a "hidden" add-on, although I'm not 100% sure of that. I've uninstalled anything that has Yahoo connected to it also Spigot...no joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don:confused:

Hello dondd,

Sorry to start a new thread, but most of the stuff I've read here is older and doesn't seem to apply.
Do you mean you have another topic covering the same problem?

If so, you should post that you are receiving help here and mark the topic solved otherwise you might end up with conflicting advice.

Now

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will produce a log called (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please copy and paste log back here.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please also paste that into your reply.

emeraldnzi,
No, this is the only thread I've started. Other "similar" threads are outdated as they deal with FireFox versions much earlier than mine and the fixes are sure to be different. I'm out of town for a few days, and will proceed with your instruction to run FRST and post the logs. Thanks for your response and advice!!
