YAY!!! it boots now! but... It still freezes... Hijackthis log

    I can now turn on my PC and rech all the way to the desktop!!!!
    Wow what an accomplishment...
    now... Im starting to think this isnt a hardware OR software problem...
    Whenever I run a virus or add scan the computer slows down to a crawl and so does the net. Eventually it freezes, Im starting to think its some kind of trojan or spyware, either way was wondering if someone could look at this...

    Well I am only 13 so I dont know about the donation, I will see what I can do :p.
    I've been checking around with the internet, It works fine for about 10-15 minutes Then it stops.

    The funny thing about it is just the browser doesn't work, I can still use AIM, MSN, I have delted all cookies and temporary internet files, still no change.

    What can be done to solve this.

    Just a thought,but have you thought about disabling startup items that you don't need to start on bootup.Having too much stuff in there can slow your system down dramatically.The only things I allow to start on bootup on my machine are my anti virus and firewall.

    and check out the service configurations,there are a lot of services that you can disable to help your system run better and faster

    Just a note,but before running ANY scan for virus,trojan,worm etc. you should ALWAYS turn off System Restore as copies of everything you are trying to get rid of are in System Restore just waiting for you to put them back where they came from in the first place.

    Another good thing to do before running the scans is to clear out your TIF and other temp files.
    In Internet Options, under the General tab click the Delete temporary internet files, choose to delete all Offline content.
    Also, go to Start - Search - Files or folders - in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit - select all - File - delete.
    Empty the contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. Empty Recycle bin.

    Once you have cleaned your system and have it running the way it should,turn System Restore back on.

    I cant reforamt either, constantly freezes when i try boot from CD, Also it freezes when I PLAY GAMES, RUN VIRUS SCANS AND SPYWARE SCANS.
    Could it be a damaged memory stick?
    How can i check?
    If it is of any importance im dual booting Linux with winxp.

    Ive tried rolling back the driver for my video card.

    Also the internet stops working after 15 mins.

    I called my ISP, they say they cannot help me.
    The funny thing is, I can still talk on MSN its only Internet explorer and downloads (www.) based things that stop working, ive tried re installin Internet explorer...
    Nothing seems to work for me!

    Sorry if ive mentioned all this before just wanna clear this up

    Ive removed all temp internet files and cookies but I dont know what to do anymore...

    If you want to test your computer's memory, here is a memory diagnostic that I have used. You have to enable your computer to boot from the floppy disc (that you make) and then it runs the test from that.

    Well it passed the first few tests, but then surprise surprise it froze in the middle...

    what am i gonna do... looks like a dead computer to me.

    I remember someone mentioning that erratic problems of freezing and rebooting could be caused by a bad power supply.

    Perhaps something to check?

    Have you checked Device Manager for any yellow !'s.

    Go to Control panel/System,on the hardware tab select "Device Manager".Check through here for yellow !'s.

    Let us know what you find.
