Click Tools -> Options. Click the E-mail Options button. Click the Advanced E-mail Options button. Look in the section "When new items arrive in my Inbox". You should see "Show an envelope icon in the notification area". Check the box, and click OK until all open dialog boxes are closed.

    Hi kirsti,
I'm not sure which indicator you're talking about, but if you go to Tools/Options/Preferences and click "Email Options" you can check the box for "Display a notification message when new mail arrives". If that's not the one you need, you can click "Advanced Email Options" and check the box for "Show an envelope icon in the system tray" under "When new items arrive". Hope that helps.
