Ever since Real Player was installed - video playback in You Tube just chugs along -
apart from removing Real Player - how do I get my You Tube playback to play back smoothly again?

I'm not saying dsl or cable are in anyway related !- I am saying Real Player is related to this problem....

I don't think Real Player is the problem. The video is being streamed to your computer over the internet. Conection speed, traffic and other variables can account for the problem.
