This is not a duplicate message. This is an infection for a different computer. Every few minutes I get a popup 'Your computer is infected. Windows has detected a spyware infection' or something like that. I have this whole toolbar of gambling and xxx stuff that i certainly didn't put on and can't seem to get rid of. Adaware and spybot don't seem to run. My browser has been hijacked to 'msblank'. When I boot up the computer, I get this smsc.exe window that pops up. This is my most recent hijack this output...

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?act=A...e=post&id=43811
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log.

I rebooted and the bar of icons did go away. I am also now able to access taskmanager which I was not before. There is still a black rectangle in the middle of my screen which says 'Spyware Infection' followed by some verbage. Also, when I run adaware, it keeps getting hung up when looking in the Temporary Internet Files folder. And when I bring up internet explorer it takes me to ...msblank instead of comcast.net.

Here is my latest hijackthis output...

Did everything you told me and computer seemed to be working fine. Then I got this fatal system message as follows against a plain blue screen...

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
R\The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

I shut the computer off and then on. The restore active desktop screen appears but I cannot do anything with it.
