Three of my favorites (which are free) that i use daily are:

PopUpStopper

ieSpell Checker

A FREE Spell Checker for Internet Explorer -- lets you check your spelling before submitting your Questions, Answers or other information on Internet sites. It places an icon on your IE Toolbar that makes spell-checking a snap. It also lets you add words to its vocabulary.

Clipboard Magic

Clipboard Magic is a Windows clipboard enhancement utility. It can dramatically enhance your productivity when cutting and pasting text or for filling in web forms. It allows you to save and access hundreds of clips from numerous "lists" which makes it very convenient for categorizing Windows clipboard clips.

Download (its FREE) from the site below:

Besides the usual suspects I have grown to like Yo!Utilities IIII: http://w1.321.telia.com/~u32102551/youtilitiesiiii.html

His screenshot makes it look like your standard program launcher, but it is better than any I have seen for accessing the entire computer quickly. Below the regular programs and folders you have a mini Windows Explorer that lets you quickly access anything in the computer. The screenshot shows how quickly I can get to a wave file buried in a folder on my G drive.

In any window you just put the cursor in any corner of the screen and left click to get the launch menu. You can also access the setup from the menu that opens. You don’t have another icon cluttering your tray or have to sort through anything to find the launcher.

You can’t have a list without the basics like ZoneAlarm, AdAware or SpyBot, Irfanview, WinZip or WinRar, Acrobat reader etc.

Definately Spybot S&D with the immunize and download blocker activated.

I've found Regseeker great for keeping the registry clean. It's a bit more aggressive than jv16, but also backsup what you delete.

AIDA32 does what Belarc Advisor does with much more detail.

I would not be without mailwasher to filter e-mail at the server.

POW is a customizable (learning) popup blocker. See it once, add to block list and never see it again.

A really handy and secure utility I use primarily for accessing sites without having to remember/record and type in those pesky usernames and passwords, is AiRoboform (makes one think of RoboCop). It also allows autofill of forms online with info you program (name, address, zip code, etc). It will also generate random passwords for you. You can access the program (via password) and view/printout all your usernames/passwords

For viewing almost any graphic, you will be hard pressed to find anything better than Irfanview. Totally puts Media Player to shame.

BTW... everything listed above is free!

Kerio personal firewall to keep out the bad ones and the bonus is that it is very light on resources while providing stealth protection.

To add a couple of great utilities that must be purchased...

Norton Ghost. Excellent imaging program. Works out of DOS and easy to use once you get through the learning curve.

Roxio GoBack. Appears to be somewhat controversial. Some say it causes problems. I've been using it for over 3 years and it's saved my sorry butt so many times, I've stopped counting. If you consider it, be aware there are some conflicts with Ghost which must be understood. Once you understand them, it's no problem. My experience using GoBack is with Win98SE. Most problems I've seen discussed, regarding GoBack, are with XP.
