zonealarm 6.5 free

    since installing zonealarm free 6.5 my internet connection drops soon after logging on. when i turn off zonealarm i have no problem with my browser or the internet connection. i would like to continue to use zonealarm but will not as long as this issue continues. can anyone tell me if it is a configuration issue or am i just out of luck?:confused:

    The current version works just fine, you may have gotten a bad install - remove it and then redownload it

    Guess what, your computer setup isn't everyone's, is it ? The version I stated is the most stable for everyone to date. Not some general statement of ,well it works for me.

    Thank you, as I am sure mzimerman does not need to know what works for you but what has the best chance to work for themself on their own computer.

    The later versions of Zone Alarm have indeed been buggy for some users but it could also be a configuration issue.

    Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it to see if that makes any difference.

    Download, install and update Jetico Personal Firewall 2.0.0.10 = http://www.jetico.com/index.htm#/jpfirewall.htm + http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/downloads/2161495/jetico-personal-firewall

    Then uninstall ZoneAlarm.

    I don't believe ZA is the problem in and of itself but a conflict with something else that is running possibly in the background. Maybe an HJT log would help ??

    just a note, i use ZA v6.5.737.000, just did the update 2 days ago, have had no issues with running on my system :)
